Fake Martial Artist: Rafiel Torre Story

In case you do not know, there are many people in the world that claims to be martial arts experts but in reality they do not have such abilities. Rafiel Torre is one of them. Rafiel Torre made claims in online martial arts community that he is a BJJ black belt and had around 15 professional fight records where he won all of them, naturally if someone claims something like that today we will be able to verify the claim just by a simple search on Google. But back in early 2000s most people does not have internet yet and that leads to Rafiel being an internet “sensation”.

Because of his popularity, Rafiel was invited to compete at the notorious grappling tournament called Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC), He was matched with a real fighter and he was defeated in less than 2 minute. Strangely the defeat does not seem to reduce his reputation yet. The thing that shows the world how fake Rafiel Torre is when he was fighting in a mixed martial arts match againts Ioka Tiannu. Even though Rafiel won the fight, the consensus was he won because the fight was fixed and this is pretty clear if you are watching the match live. From then on Rafiel was proven as a fake martial artist and his life was never going to be the same again.

Rafiel went on to murder his lovers husband and this sent him to jail for murder and he was never heard from since. Hopefully he will find redemption in jail
